Include Paintless Dent Repair
If you are licensed for the Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) option, you are able to use the PDR calculator in Mitchell Cloud Estimating. This calculator helps you accurately calculate labor for PDR.
Include Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) in Estimate
To add paintless dent repair to your estimate,
- Select the part and select the PDR labor operation. The PDR icon is disabled until you select an external panel that can have PDR applied.
- Select a vehicle panel or category.
- Click Calculate.
- In the Paintless Dent Repair window, enter the Quantity for each dent size and the cost of repairing a Larger Dent in the last field.
- In the Additional items section, select one of the following:
- Aluminum Panel
- Double Panel
- Tall Roof Vehicle
- The PDR cost is calculated when you click anywhere outside the text boxes. Click Update Part when you are finished making changes.
- Click Add Line to add the PDR line to the estimate. The added line will be available in the estimate as a Paintless Repair Operation, with the Part Type as Sublet, the Price as calculated by the PDR calculator, and the Labor Units as 0.
Note: An explanation line is automatically added to the PDR line.
Edit Paintless Dent Repair Line Using PDR Calculator
You can also edit dent details with the PDR calculator to add or edit a paintless dent repair line in the estimate.
- From the Estimate tab in Mitchell Cloud Estimating, click the paintless dent repair line in the estimate.
- Click Calculate PDR, next to the Cancel and Done buttons.
- In the PDR calculator, you can view and edit the dent details. The PDR total will recalculate according to the changes you make.
- Click Update Part. The price for the line is updated with the calculated PDR total.
- You can edit any repair line for an external panel with a labor operation of R&R (Remove and Replace), if the paintless repair operation is valid. Change the operation from R&R to Paintless Repairto access the PDR calculator.
