Select Parts: Add Parts and Repair Lines

Click the Parts or Split View icon in the Estimate Editor to add parts and labor (repair lines) to the estimate.

  1. In the Parts or Split View tab of Mitchell Cloud Estimating, search for parts in the search bar or select a vehicle area and part (for example, Front Bumper). If your search terms do not match any repair lines, you will see a No results were found message.

    Procedure page (P-page): information is available for some components or categories. The P-page link is below the part.

  2. Select the part or number in the diagram for the part. You can also double-click the part or the number to view the details.
    • To view the diagram larger for more detail, click the arrow icon below the graphic.

      Alternatively, click the + or - icons above the parts graphic to enlarge the images

  3. Click a labor icon to select the labor operation for the part. This will determine the correct labor times and costs for the labor operation.
    • R&R - Remove/Replace
    • R&I - Remove/Install
    • Repair
    • Blend
    • PDR - Paintless Dent Repair

  4. Select the line for a part to display the part description, labor type, labor units, part type, and more.
    • If there is more than one option for a part (for example, various models or sizes, right side, left side, etc.), you will see View Details on the parts list instead of a price for the part.

    Note for Part Assemblies: To include the labor for a part assembly (Assy), select Remove and Replace (R&R) for the assembly and add the necessary parts to the estimate. The parts you add will have the labor units marked as INC (included) and the price set to zero. You can edit the part as needed.

  5. To modify the refinish labor, type the Total Units for the operation.
  6. Click More and add any additional recommended operations.
  7. Click Add Line to add the line to the estimate or click Select All to add all available lines to the estimate.

The repair line is added to the estimate along with the refinish line and any recommended lines selected.

In the Parts menu, the i Information tab provides links to additional information about parts. The available information includes several categories, such as:

  • Special Cautions
  • Paint/Clear Coat
  • Information Labels
  • A/C Refrigerant Capacities
  • Underhood Dimensions
  • OEM Service Manual - From this link, you can access General Motors service manuals for supported vehicles. Service manuals appear in a new browser window when you click the name of the manual.
  • Procedure Pages
  • Safety Recall

Click each item in the list to view the related details in the right panel. To exit the information tab and return to the list of components, by click another menu item such as Front.
