WARNING:

Accidental air bag deployment is possible. Personal injury may result. Avoid area near steering wheel and instrument panel even if air bags have deployed. Dual-stage air bag modules may be present that could contain an undeployed stage. When disposing of a deployed dual-stage air bag, always treat it as a live module. See appropriate Air Bag Service & Repair article in Mitchell’s Repair Center TechAdvisor product for more information.

1Visually check for defects with component removed from the vehicle.
2Visually check for defects with component installed to the vehicle.
3If the lower No. 1 instrument airbag has deployed or any defects are found, replace the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly, No.1 instrument panel brace sub-assembly, No. 3 instrument panel brace sub-assembly, instrument panel reinforcement assembly with a new one.
4If the lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag assembly has deployed or any defects are found, replace the lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag assembly, lower instrument panel airbag bracket sub-assembly, instrument panel reinforcement assembly with a new one.
5If instrument panel passenger airbag assembly has deployed or any defects are found, replace the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly, instrument panel safety pad assembly or instrument panel reinforcement assembly with a new one.
6Visually check for defects with the front seat airbag assemblies installed to the vehicle. If any defects are found, replace the separate type front seatback pad, separate type front seatback cover or front seatback pad with cover with a new one. Visually check for defects with the front seat airbag assemblies removed from the vehicle. If any defects are found, replace the front seat airbag assembly with a new one.
7When airbags have deployed as the result of a collision, be sure to replace all airbag sensors in the damaged areas (anywhere in need of repair). Visually check the airbag sensors in undamaged areas for defects. If any defects are found or an airbag sensor has detected a major collision, replace the airbag sensor with a new one.
