Mitchell Estimating Files

Note: If you are not able to view the Preferences or System Configuration selections from the System Info menu (described in the procedure below), you will need to log on to UltraMate (Standalone version) as Administrator, e.g., using Mitchell for both the User ID and Password.

1. On the System Info menu, click Preferences.

2. On the Import/Export tab, select Auto Import/Export.

3. Select Enable Automatic Import and do the following:

   • Select an option for deleting automatic import files (e.g., always, prompt, or never). The two most commonly selected options are "Always Delete..." and "Prompt Before Delete..." to prevent the creation of duplicate assignments.

   • Set an Automatic Import File location, e.g., C:\MITCHELL\ACES\IMPORT\*.MIE

     Important: For the automatic imports to work with the Mitchell estimating system, you must use "backslash star-dot-MIE" at the end of your import location. If automatic imports are not working as expected, this could be the reason.

     When assignments import successfully, you will be asked if you would like to import them to the Mitchell estimating system.

4. Click OK to save your selections.

   Note: If you receive a message asking you to create the Import Directory, click OK. This will create the directory.

3. Select all of the Enable Review File Export options, including Use Full Filename.

4. Set your Export Directory to C:\MITCHELL\ACES\REVIEW.

5. (Optional) Set the Days Before Deleting Review Files.

   Most shops set this to 30 days to prevent a build up of unnecessary files. If review files are needed for any reason after 30 days, review files can be created manually from the estimate.

6. Click OK to save your selections.

2. On the Value Added Options tab, select EMS as a Value Added Option.
