Change User Passwords

Change user passwords as needed to ensure that only the intended user accesses the system. You can also make passwords expire.

Note: Administrator privileges are required.

How to

  1. On the System Info menu, point to Configuration, and click Configure User Information.
  2. On the User Manager dialog box, select the User ID that needs a new password, and click Modify.
  3. On the User Detail dialog box, in the Change Password area, enter the Password for the new user. (Passwords are case sensitive and can be up to 10 characters.) The characters you enter are masked and appear as asterisks.
  4. In the Verify Password field, enter the password again.
  5. To correct a typing mistake, click Reset Password, and enter and verify the password again.

  6. Click OK, and then click Close. The next time you log on to Mitchell Estimating, you need to use the new password.

    Note: Host communications users are prompted to call the host to complete the process.

  1. On the System Info menu, point to Configuration, and click Configure User Information.
  2. On the User Manager dialog box, select the User ID that needs a new password, and click Modify.
  3. On the User Detail dialog box, select the Password May Expire check box. (To turn off password expiration, clear the check box.)
  4. In the Expires After (Days) field, enter the number of days before the password expires.
