You can archive committed estimates and supplements. All estimate information, including supplements and corrections, is moved to the archive location. Estimates can be archived at any time, but they must be committed.
Tip: Copy archived files to an external backup system.
How to

Close any open estimates, and on the Utilities menu, click Archive.

On the Archive Estimates dialog box, select where you want to archive estimates.
Note: The default archive location is C:\Mitchell\aces\archives\folder.dbd.
Tip: If the path is not visible, click Network to connect a network drive.
- Click Set Path.
- Click Select. A list of estimates available for archive appears.
- Select the estimates you want to archive, and click OK.
- Click Archive. The estimates are moved from the current database into the location you selected. When the process is complete, Archive Estimates closes, and the archived estimates are no longer accessible from within Mitchell Estimating.

Close any open estimates, and on the Utilities menu, click Retrieve Archives.

On the Retrieve Estimates dialog box, click Browse and select the drive, directory, and name of the archived file.
Note: The default archive location is C:\Mitchell\aces\archives\folder.dbd.
Tip: If the path you want is not visible, click Network to connect a network drive.
- Click Set Path.
- Click Select.
- On the Retrieve From Archive dialog box, select the estimates you want to retrieve, and click OK. The Retrieve Estimates dialog box shows the number of estimates to be retrieved.
- Click Retrieve. The estimates are restored to your database. You can open the estimates using the normal procedure.
