The Estimating Management Standard (EMS) exchanges information between
estimating systems and shop management systems. You can exchange administrative data, estimate data, supplement information, part price updates
You can export and import EMS files, when you activate and configure EMS import/export.
How to
- Close any open estimates.
- On the Utilities menu, point to EMS Tasks, and click Export.

On the Export dialog box, select the files you want to export, and click Export.
The Exported EMS dialog box displays the number of files (including supplements, corrections) exported to the directory location set up in Preferences.
- To display the EMS Log Viewer, click View Log File.
- Close any open estimates.
- On the Utilities menu, click Read Import File.
- Select the drive and folder where the import file is located. If the desired path is not visible, click Network to connect a network drive.
- Select the file to be imported and click OK. The file is imported.
- To print the Import Status report, click Print. Then, select the print setup and click OK.
- Click OK to close the Import Status dialog box.
You can open the imported assignment as you would any other assignment.
