Use the Design Screens feature on the Authorization Groups dialog box to make certain fields on the Admin, Vehicle, and Profile tabs required, read-only, or hidden for a group of users. For example, you can make the Accident Date field on the Admin > General tab required, or you can hide the ACV Threshold field on the Valuation profile tab.
The field properties you set apply to all members of that authorization group.
How to
- On the System Info menu, click Authorization Groups.
- On the Authorization Groups dialog box, select the authorization group you want to modify.
- Click Design Screens.
- Click the tab with the field properties you want to modify.

Click a property button, and then click a field to apply the property.
The property icon appears in the field to indicate the property has been set.
For example, to set the Estimator ID field as required, click the Required property button. Then, from the General tab, in the Damage Assessed By group, click the Estimator ID field. The Required icon appears in the Estimator ID field. To remove the setting, click the Required property button, and then click the field again.
- When finished, on the File menu, click Save. On the File menu again, click Close to return to Authorization Groups.

Requires the field to be completed before the estimate can be saved or committed. A red asterisk (*) appears next to the field, and the words “* Required Field” appear at the bottom of the window. The indicator also applies to fields that become required based on installation type, such as File Number, Claim Number, and the like. If a required field is not complete when you attempt to save or commit the estimate, a message appears identifying the incomplete required field. This applies to both new and previously saved estimates. Note: Check boxes and options (radio buttons) cannot be designated as required fields. |
