Use the User Manager dialog box to create, modify, and delete users.
Insurance company user IDs and passwords are assigned by Mitchell. Body shop users create their own user IDs and passwords.
Note: Before creating user IDs, be sure to set up your user groups (authorization groups).
Tip: When configuring Mitchell Estimating, create the profile first, then set up your user groups (authorization groups), and then create user login credentials. Then you can assign a profile to the authorization group.
How to
- On the System Info menu, point to Configuration, and click Configure User Information.
- On the User Manager dialog box, click New.
- On the User Detail dialog box, enter a User ID.
- Enter the Last Name and First Name.
- Select an Authorization Group from the list.
- Enter the Password. (Passwords are case sensitive.)
- In the Verify Password field, re-enter the password.
- On the System Info menu, point to Configuration and click Configure User Information.

On the User Manager dialog box, select the User ID you want to change, and then click Modify.
Tip: To change a user's default profile, select the Authorization Group arrow, and click the group name with the default profile you want this user to use.
- On the User Detail dialog box, change the user information as necessary. (User IDs and Passwords are case sensitive.)
- Click OK to save the changes and return to User Manager.
Delete a user's ID to discontinue their access to Mitchell Estimating. The last remaining Administrator user ID cannot be deleted from the system.
- Make sure the user ID to be deleted is not currently logged on to Mitchell Estimating.
- On the System Info menu, point to Configuration, and then click Configure User Information.
- On the User Manager dialog box, select the User ID you want to delete, and then click Delete.
- Click OK to confirm.

Retype the password into the Verify Password field to make sure it is correct. If you make a mistake while typing, press Reset Password to set the field to its previous value. |

Reset Password |
If you make a mistake while typing, press Reset Password to restore the previous value. |
|
Password May Expire |
Click this check box if you would like the password to expire after a period of time. (This option is not available for insurance companies.) |

Expires After (Days) |
Enter the number of days to pass before the password expires. |
|
Test Communications |
Click this button to confirm that the user credentials entered allow you to connect to the Mitchell server. Note: This button is visible when you have the Mitchell Communications Manager (MCM) installed on your system. |
