Mitchell Alternate Parts Program (MAPP)
Use Mitchell's Alternate Parts Program (MAPP) to automatically include non-OEM parts (alternate parts) in your estimates.
Note: Alternate parts include Alternate New, Remanufactured, and OE Discount parts, as well as Recored, Remanufactured, Rechromed, and alternatives to OEM parts.
When you calculate an estimate, MAPP automatically searches for qualified alternate parts for any OEM parts in the estimate. When qualified alternate parts are found, the system uses those in the estimate instead of the OEM parts.
MAPP is a value-added option. To purchase and activate the option, contact your Mitchell representative.
How to
Reference
MAPP suppliers must meet a stringent set of guidelines that guarantee quality parts, service, delivery, and price:
- Warranty the quality of all parts to be at least equal to OEM parts in fit, finish, durability, and corrosion resistance
- Provide a written warranty on all prices
- Guarantee delivery within two working days
- Maintain a stock of at least 70% of items advertised as available
- Offer CAPA- or NSF-certified parts, where available
- Allow you to visit the parts storage facility and observe the inventory
When a repair line with an OEM part meets the following conditions, the system uses an alternate part instead of the OEM part in the estimate.
- The repair line must be a CEG item (not a Body Component or Special).
- The CEG item must have a Part Type of NEW.
- The repair line item is checked for override modifications.
- The selected alternate repair part must be available from a valid supplier. (You can add suppliers to the estimate, up to a maximum number of suppliers set in the profile.)
- The alternate part price must be lower than the CEG price by the percentage set in the Alternate Parts profile tab.
Note: When parts from MAPP are used in an estimate, the alternate part supplier’s name, address, and phone number prints on the estimate. The estimate line number, part number, and part price also appear on the report. Alternate part information is located after the detail lines and before the Totals section.
