Part Detail

On the Repair tab, select a part in the Part List, and then click View Detail.

Note: Repair lines are temporarily unavailable but become visible again when you select a part.
On the Part Detail dialog box, to decide between repairing the selected part and replacing it with a recycled part, compare the Repair Breakeven hours to the Labor hours.
To add a part to the estimate, select it in the list of available parts, and click Select. (To add multiple parts, press Shift or Ctrl while selecting, then click Select.)
The estimate appears, repair lines are visible, and the part is added to the repair lines.
Tip: You can set a preference to automatically display the Part Detail dialog box when you select a part. Go to the Miscellaneous preference tab, and select the Show Parts Dialog by Default check box.

Configure Repair Breakeven

On the System Info menu, click Preferences.
On the Preferences dialog box, click the Options tab.
Select the Display Repair Breakeven check box.
Select the Repair Scenario you want to use for comparison. Most Cost Effective is the default selection.

Compare parts

Review the Repair Breakeven information. (Displayed when you configure the feature. See the above procedure.)
Repair Breakeven is the number of repair labor hours at which point replacing the part is as cost effective as repairing it when compared to the part category shown (excluding refinish).
To compare part repair information, click Repair/Other. The Repair/Other (Labor Operations) dialog box appears.
To compare part replacement information, click Compare. The Part Compare dialog box appears.

Window Components — Part Detail dialog box

Select	Adds the selected part as a new repair line.
Select All	Selects all the parts in the list. Note: This button does not appear if the Compare Box Display at Part Selection preferences option is selected on the Miscellaneous tab.
Repair/Other	Displays the Labor Operation (Repair/Other) dialog box where you can enter and compare part repair information.
Compare	Displays the Part Compare dialog box where you can compare multiple replacement parts. Note: This button does not appear if the Compare Box Display at Part Selection preferences option is selected.
Cancel	Closes the Part Detail for dialog box without making a selection.
Repair Breakeven	Repair Breakeven information compares the number of labor hours to repair a part to the cost of replacing it with a recycled part. This information helps you decide early in the estimating process whether to repair the part or replace it. Note: The Repair Breakeven comparison does not include refinish costs. Note: This information appears when you have configured your preferences to display this feature. See Configure Repair Breakeven above.
Detail Notes	Notes from the parts database about the selected part.
